About Scripps Research

Scripps Research — one of the world's largest, private, non-profit research organizations — stands at the forefront of basic biomedical science, a vital segment of medical research that seeks to comprehend the most fundamental processes of life.

The institute — located on campuses in La Jolla, California, and Jupiter, Florida — has become internationally recognized for its research into immunology, molecular and cellular biology, chemistry, neurosciences, autoimmune diseases, cardiovascular diseases, virology, and vaccine development. Particularly significant is the institute's study of the basic structure and design of biological molecules; in this arena Scripps Research is among a handful of the world's leading centers.

Scripps Research offers a top-10 ranked doctoral program through its Skaggs Graduate School of Chemical and Biological Sciences. The institute also offers undergraduate research opportunities through two NSF REU-funded summer programs on both campuses as well as academic year research programs. Outreach initiatives share the power and promise of scientific research with high school and middle school students, teachers, and members of the community.

Reviews

“The environment was very collaborative, helpful, and friendly. I was given a project to do by myself but had guidance whenever needed and did not get looked down on when I asked for help. The location was also amazing and the interns were constantly bonding. ”
