Research (R&D) Intern

The Bee Corp is a benefit corporation based in Indianapolis, IN that applies data analytics to beekeeping. Our mission is to empower growers and beekeepers by delivering insights into beehive health. The Bee Corp pursues this mission by offering growers infrared inspection technology to measure pollination value and drive decisions to protect yield.  

Position Summary: 
The Bee Corp is looking for an undergraduate Research Intern to help our R&D efforts. A major aspect of R&D is conducting data collection for our product. This is a cross-functional role in which you’ll help coordinate the R&D logistics as well as complete the physical data collection. The data collection process involves working directly with beekeepers and beehives. Beekeeping knowledge is a plus but is not required. Candidate should be self-motivated, able to juggle multiple projects, and work in a team environment. This position will be part-time and paid $13-15 an hour, depending on experience. This role will be based in Indianapolis, IN or remote for students working outside of Indianapolis.  

Position Responsibilities:
• Involvement in coordination of R&D logistics
• R&D data collection
• Communicate and work with beekeepers 

Qualifications:
• Grant funding for this position requires that the candidate be either:
  • A full-time undergraduate student 
  • OR a full-time or part-time community college, undergrad or graduate student with veteran status
• Willingness to travel and work with bees (for data collection)
