Lead DSP Hardware Engineer Intern- Inertial Sensor (For Credit / CPT / OPT)
About This Job
Esurgi seeks a highly motivated Digital Sensor Processing Hardware Engineer Intern who can apply their problem-solving skills to its flagship products. Interns will gain in-industry experience, hone their engineering skills, and build medical devices that transform the healthcare industry. This is a part-time internship available for college credit, OPT, or CPT and is NOT PAID. Internship will take place from February 2021 through August 2021.
Main Responsibilities:
- Implement digital filters and algorithms into a microcontroller to correct errors from inertial sensors
- Implement advanced algorithms into a microcontroller to obtain precise orientation and position data from fusion of accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer digital signals
- Apply quaternions, euler angles, and derived data from inertial sensors to measure relative angles of joints in 3D
- Troubleshoot previously developed code
- Prepare and deliver documents to clearly communicate technical status and reference documents for new code developed
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with calibration and digital signal processing of inertial sensor signals, and sensor fusion algorithms
- Extensive knowledge of accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers, and embedded systems
- Hands-on experience in interfacing microcontrollers with digital sensors
- Experience in programming, testing and debugging in Arduino, C/C++, and Matlab
- Mathematics for 3D Kinematics (e.g. Rotation matrices, quaternions, euler angles, etc)
- Experience completing complex product development projects quickly and successfully
Minimum Requirements
- Pursuing, or have a degree in engineering (Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering,)
- Masters or PhD Preferred.
- Previous internship is desirable.

- Ability to research technical materials and projects and implement them
