Team:
The Regulatory & Government Affairs team is responsible for Relativity Space’s engagement with all levels of government to pursue required approvals and positive policy outcomes as well as remove barriers to innovation and competition. We work cross-functionally to support Relativity's short and long term goals by engaging in direct lobbying and public engagement to pursue company objectives tied to economic development, facilities, external partnerships and business development.
What you'll do:
As a Government Affairs Intern, you will help identify policy opportunities and risks across federal, state, and local governments to ensure that Relativity is positioned to offer innovative solutions to NASA, DOD, and other agencies by leveraging next generation additive manufacturing concepts. This team manages our external engagement with government stakeholders and also helps coordinate internal strategic activities.
Potential summer 2022 intern projects (just a few examples!):
- Establish a guidebook as Relativity’s first ever Government Affairs Intern.
- Research FY2023 US budget opportunities for launch services and large-scale additive manufacturing across various federal agencies.
- Draft and maintain engagement documents including budget priorities, fact sheets, regulatory comments, legislative language, and more.
- Analysis of legislative efforts related to Relativity’s aerospace and manufacturing activities.
- Assist with tracking and coordinating outreach with government partners.
Skills/Competencies we're looking for:
- Current undergraduate or graduate student earning a degree in Political Science, Law, or a related field.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and intense startup environment.
- Ownership of projects from beginning to end, with minimal oversight.
- A mind for thinking outside the box and challenging the status quo.
- Exceptional writing skills and ability to communicate complex issues and concepts.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a United States Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required.
