NOTE: This is a hybrid in office/remote role requiring the hired intern to be commutable to our R&D facility based in the Florham Park, NJ area.
Objective: The objective of this work is to understand, develop and test existing or newly developed skin care formulations with active ingredients like AHA, Retinol or other active and it its effects on skin using fluorescence methods. This internship position will be supported and mentored by the Scientific Affairs and Formulation Development teams.
Key Deliverables:
- Scientific Revision on Skin Physiology, Skin Bioinstrumentation, Skin Fluorescence Chromophores and active ingredients deliverable benefits to the skin
- Fundamental understanding of skin care formulation
- Setting up and understanding skin fluorescence method/measurements
- Look at existing competitor landscape for key active ingredients
- Develop prototypes and test commercial formulas for efficacy comparison using skin fluorescence.
Candidate Background/Experience:
Requirements:
- Some experience in the areas of physics, chemistry or biochemical engineering.
- Undergraduate student – at least Sophomore standing as of September 2021. Earliest graduation date: December 2022
- Leadership experience and capability through academics, athletics, community work and/or extracurricular activities
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and in a group environment
- Must exercise critical thinking to challenge the status quo
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office especially Excel and Powerpoint
