Outdoor Education Paid Internship
Seeking Outdoor Educator positions this summer? We have numerous roles, each with their own flavor of it. Do you want an internship where you can be a Ropes Course instructor or a Wilderness Trip Leader? Join Camp Augusta’s team, and spend your summer teaching and experiencing the magic of camp!
Even if you don’t have direct experience or other camp knowledge don’t worry! As part of your internship, you would start as a counselor to get a great foundation of camp, and have opportunities to lead within your cabin, village, and clinic domains (we are introducing 4 new outdoor clinics this year!). And, if interested, there are opportunities to step into other positions towards the end of the summer to learn and prepare for the following year. :)
Learn more than you ever thought you could about relating to children in a manner that empowers their growth and independence! Apply to Camp Augusta’s summer internship program, and by the end of August, your resume could read:
Outdoor Education Counselor - Camp Augusta Summer 2023
After 300+ hours of dedicated training in skills of facilitation and debriefing, empathic connection, 1st aid, and much more , I acted as a primary caretaker for 5 campers with 24-hour responsibilities including behavior management and child development. This took place in a 90 acre forest where I learned, practiced, and facilitated 12+ environmentally focused clinics such as beekeeping, outdoor kitchen, herbalism, creek stomping, WILD, shelter building, primitive fire building, backpacking and more.
