Associate Scientist - 2nd Shift Chemistry

This position pays between $22.76 - $23.76/hour.

An Associate Scientist is responsible for performing entry level chemical testing to support raw material, in-process, stability, and finished products as required for Quality Control. Effectively communicates work and results both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Be able to articulate work related issues clearly and effectively to management and peers.

  • Performs accurate routine chemical testing (FTIR, TLC, PM, UV-Vis) to meet departmental objectives.
  • Documents testing in compliance with Good Documentation Practices.
  • Updates and routes SOPs, MOAs, Specifications through Documentum as delegated by supervisor.
  • Maintains accurate records of all work performed with respect to a given project. Ensures documentation meets facility audit as well as cGMP or GLP requirements.
  • Manages work and time based on departmental priorities using own judgement and objective reasoning.
  • Performs good housekeeping practices and follows safety related policies. Makes recommendations.
  • Performs peer review of data to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.


Requirements

  • Possess a B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, or related physical science.
  • Typically, 0-2 years of related experience in pharmaceutical industry.
  • Background in HPLC and other analytical techniques (GC, AA, UV, TLC, and wet chemistry) desirable. 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 
  • Must be flexible with continually changing projects and priorities.
