We are currently seeking an innovative, experienced, and highly-skilled Data Scientist to join our growing technology team. In this role, you will create and develop custom solutions for our users in a collaborative, fast-paced, state-of-the-art environment. As a Data Scientist at NSWCDD, you will develop analytic solutions processing large sets of structured and unstructured data to gain insights and drive decision making. You will support the processing of structured and unstructured data to derive patterns, trends, and correlations and enable entity extraction, disambiguation and other data-related support using appropriate data science tools and techniques in order to draw scientifically credible analytical conclusions based on quantitative analysis. You will support the identification and evaluation of novel algorithms, methodologies, tools and data sources with application to agency analytics You will use software languages such as Python and tools such as R to develop scripts to automate data gathering and analysis, and process large amounts of unique data sets in small time periods to provide actionable information. You will support descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.

Qualifications include: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field. Experience with data science using statistical languages such as R to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.. Knowledge of statistical techniques and concepts. Experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models. Demonstrated experience with programming languages (such as Python, SQL, C/C++, JAVA, and Perl).
