Graphic Design Internship

January 8th, 2024 - August 31st, 2024

Oliver Winery is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic graphic design intern to join its marketing team. Oliver is a national, best-selling brand, and our in-house marketing team produces innovative, strategic creative work. The design intern works alongside a full-time Design Lead in an intimate team environment while gaining experience in product design, advertising, and retail point-of-sale and display design. We value your talent, so this is a paid position aligned to the right candidate's schedule. The Graphic Design Intern reports to the Design Lead with oversight from the Marketing Director.

 

INTERNSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:

Works with full-time Design Lead to produce and develop hands-on design work for Oliver Winery, including updates to point-of-sale materials and advertisements, menu and wine list design, retail display and signage, and creation of digital creative assets. The design intern manages their own workflow as appropriate. 

In addition, internship responsibilities include:

  • Review and proofing of design concepts
  • Presentation of design concepts and/or finished creative to team and clients
  • Assist marketing team with asset management such as closing out finished projects and photography/stock asset inventories.
  • Other duties, as assigned, including:
    • Photography, illustration, lettering, etc.
    • POS and retail element vendor sourcing
    • Having fun!

INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS:

  • A candidate who is a deadline-driven creative thinker will excel in this position.
  • Successful candidate must have relevant course work and on-the-job experience in graphic design.
  • Prefer candidates with samples of professional design work or students currently enrolled in graphic design, media, or journalism with a design emphasis.
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, in a Mac environment is required.
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and reliable. Must have the ability to work in a team-oriented, professional environment.
  • Due to the nature of our business, candidates must be 21 years of age to apply

TYPICAL SCHEDULE: This internship is ON-SITE at Oliver Winery (Bloomington, IN). Therefore, the intern will need reliable transportation to and from Oliver Winery's campus. The internship offers an average of 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling during regular office hours (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm).  Based on performance, the internship could be extended through the fall, 2024.

DEADLINE: Materials must be received by Friday, November 3rd, 2023.

PAY: Internship is a paid at a rate of $12/hour.
