Arts and Entertainment Summer Intern

The Dallas Morning News Summer Internship application process is now open through Friday, November 3, 2023. The Dallas Morning News is in search of an Arts and Entertainment Intern.

North Texas is home to 7.5 million people. It’s the 5th largest public media market in the country. It includes Dallas (42% Hispanic, 24% Black); Fort Worth (median resident age of 33); Denton (home of University of North Texas); and a constellation of cities and suburbs with unique cultural identities.

Interns will be assigned a variety of tasks related to subjects including music, festivals, things to do, local celebrities, pop culture and more.

All interns are expected to actively use social media in the newsgathering process and could be asked to take smartphone photos or videos in the course of their reporting.

Some interns could be asked to cover a narrowly focused beat at the forefront of experiments to grow our digital audience.

Applicants should send no more than eight published clips or links. Clips may be reduced, but must be legible, or the application will be rejected.

A cover letter and résumé with references are required with all applications.
