Retail Internship

Waterway has an immediate opportunity for a part-time Intern supporting our Retail Support Team, based at our Chesterfield, MO Corporate Headquarters. The Retail Internship is an immersive opportunity offering real-world, hands-on experience as part of a team supporting our network of retail convenience stores across our 28 locations in 5 markets.

The Retail Internship is an immersive opportunity offering real-world hands-on experience as part of the Waterway corporate office Retail Support Team.  During this internship, the selected intern will have exposure to the Assortment/category management while assisting with the item set and updates in our internal systems and support tools such as PO Forms and Educational Documents.  Additional experience will include exposure to our internal ticketing system.  The selected intern will traffic tickets and provide support to all our stores.

 

This position offers a flexible schedule consisting of an average of 18-20 hours per week but no more than 25 hours per week. Occasional travel to locations within the St. Louis area may be required.

This internship is a temporary position with a flexible start date in October or November, and ending on or before May 31st, 2024.

Compensation and Benefits:

This position will be located at: Waterway Carwash, 727 Goddard Avenue, Chesterfield, MO 63005.

Responsibilities

  • Set up items in our internal systems in a timely manner.
  • Updating Purchase Order documents & Educational Tools.
  • Traffic store tickets to the appropriate person for timely response.
  • Miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
  • Participate in retail department monthly closing process.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. Current enrollment in a marketing, retail, or related degree program preferred.
  • Must be able to work a flexible part-time schedule of approx. 18-20 hours per week, M-F.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Have a full and valid drivers’ license (and acceptable driving record) and able to pass a post-offer criminal background and drug screen.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.

 

The ideal candidate will also demonstrate:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Well-organized and able to multi-task
  • Self-motivated, with a strong desire to learn, and a high interest in professional and personal development.

Physical Requirements

  • Environmental – office based, with requirement to be able to work onsite at locations outside for limited periods of time.
  • Physical – must be able to walk, sit for extended periods of time.
  • Vision and Hearing – Far and near visual acuity, peripheral vision and depth perception. Hear, understand, and distinguish speech from other sounds.
  • Language – must be able to fluently speak and understand English when communicating with other team members, managers, and customers for business related purposes.
  • Attendance – maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance. Work as assigned schedule.
