Audio/Visual Coordinator

Chemonics International is currently seeking an Audio/Visual Coordinator to support our GTID team at our headquarters in Washington D.C. The AV coordinator will provide Audio/Video (A/V) support, which includes assisting and training end-users on the proper use of A/V equipment. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports in-person events as well as online and hybrid events using Microsoft Teams meetings, Microsoft Live Events, Zoom meetings, and other video conferencing platforms

  • Provides Audio/Video (A/V) support for conference rooms which includes assisting and training end-users on the proper use of A/V equipment and corporate hardware and software
  • Supports and trains staff on how to schedule meetings through Outlook, third party tools, and  room booking panels
  • Set-up, maintenance, and monitoring of conference room A/V equipment such as microphones, speakers, video walls, projectors, digital video cameras, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards for events and functions such as presentations and conferences
  • Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves issues with A/V, technology components, and video conferencing platforms
  • Liaise with 3rd party A/V support as appropriate
  • Proactively maintains A/V equipment as necessary
  • Takes direct, appropriate and timely action to meet staff needs and resolve A/V issues
  • Tracks all service requests to ensure appropriate service and follow up
  • Maintains and expands technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, establishing personal networks and participating in professional associations
  • Promotes a work environment that emphasizes teamwork, respect for differences, and accepting and giving constructive feedback
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. 

  • Minimum one year technical A/V experience required
  • Previous experience supporting Crestron products recommended
  • Technical proficiency in different IT platforms and tools including Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, networking, and PC hardware
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Teams meetings and live events, Zoom.meetings, as well as other video conferencing platforms
  • Comfortable adopting new technologies
  • Ability to quickly resolve and trouble-shoot technical problems which may arise during an event
  • Flexibility to accommodate last minute changes to event or meeting requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent combination of education and work
  • Demonstrated ability to provide input to or write reports or documentation; ability to communicate orally in a clear, concise and persuasive manner
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational and work prioritization skills with an attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills and self-drive
  • Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, prioritize workload and complete work
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity

Physical Requirements:

  • Regular attendance and availability during normal business hours are required.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb stairs, and sit for long periods of time; regular use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and file; regularly required to talk and hear; and regularly required to use computer to look up, create, and modify documents.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
