2024 Integrated Health Technologies Summer Internship- Madison, WI

INTERNSHIP ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Associate or undergraduate (junior/senior) year student with above 3.0 GPA in an accredited Information Systems Technology program or equivalent.

This internship begins May 28th, 2024, and ends August 16th, 2024

 

WHAT THIS INTERNSHIP OFFERS:

This is a 12-week, learning-intensive paid internship designed to give you essential business insights and hands-on experience in a forward-thinking organization. Our goal is to help you both gain new skills and elevate the skills you already have. As part of this internship, you will be assigned work on active, in-flight projects you can incorporate into your professional portfolio. You’ll also give a final presentation to senior leaders within the organization, giving an overview of what you learned over your 12-week internship and walking through the key deliverables of any tasks you were assigned. Other benefits of this internship include professional development sessions, networking opportunities, and mentorship as a part of the Summer IHT Internship program.

 

INTERNSHIP ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform project research using applicable SSM Health systems. Analyze business requirements and translate them to IT functional requirements/user stories. Review deliverables created by internal teams and understand the content significance;
  • Support the analysis needs of the assigned IHT team;
  • Responsible for translating business strategy and needs into defined projects to ensure alignment between the business and IT. Understand existing and proposed business processes and information system capabilities to assist with planning cross-departmental solutions that will benefit the enterprise;
  • Learn core system database administration skills for various platforms;
  • Focus on performing business-as-usual activities, including but not limited to User Management, Space Management, Troubleshooting, Data Manipulation, and Backups. Learn to leverage several monitoring and management tools designed for large-scale enterprise environments. Additional focus will be concentrated in the areas of incident management, change management life cycle, and audit procedures. Review processes and identify/remedy any potential deficiencies in documentation;
  • Analyze the test cases written by the functional test team and perform testing as needed; and
  • Preferred Skills: analytical skills, business analysis, coding and programming, database query languages, data science and analytics, front-end development, organizational skills, oral and written skills, problem-solving skills, project and time management skills, scripting and reporting, software development skills, scripting and reporting, software development skills, QA process, technical documentation, familiarity with technical analytical tools, and familiarity with SDLC.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work is primarily sedentary.
  • Normal office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation. Non-smoking work environment.
  • Occasional long and irregular hours.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary.
