Healthcare Manager

The Healthcare Manager helps to oversee all the operations of the Southampton Fresh Air Homes Medical program. The role does not require any medical certification and the ideal candidate will be an organized, motivated individual looking to gain management experience. The position is a live-in role with full board and private lodgings provided.

Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Prepare medical records for review by the Camp Nurse. 
  • Participate in the daily activity of running the clinic portion of the Infirmary. 
  • Help to maintain complete records of all infirmary activity
  • Oversee work schedules for camp nurses.
  • Obtaining current information on campers’/staff’s state of well-being with regular meetings with administrators, cabin counselors, kitchen staff, Directors, and direct observations  
  • Attend camp meetings as scheduled.
  • Organize weekly camp nurse’s meetings and or individual nurse transitions.
  • Order Health Center medical supplies; weekly review of supplies for expiration, and maintaining organization within the Infirmary. 
  • Make arrangements at the local Doctor’s office if the camper/counselor’s condition requires an office visit or delegate the same to the health center assistant
  • Communicate with parents/families, as well as physicians and hospital staff regarding any change in a camper’s health status; including continued follow-up on all medical issues
  • Make arrangements at the local pharmacy to obtain prescriptions/supplies.
  • Participate in orientation education activities.
  • Obtain scripts. 
  • Obtain and maintain health records for campers and staff.
  • Daily check of AED or delegation of the same.
  • Additional related tasks as requested by your supervisor.
