The Labor and Employment Practice typically engages in matters relating to Wage and Hour or Discrimination litigation as well as other employment-related business consulting. We frequently provide analysis and support related to minimum wage/overtime claims, meal and rest break claims, employee misclassification claims, and discrimination matters related to hiring, pay, promotion, and/or wrongful termination at all stages of the litigation process.

Job Description:

The Research Analyst is a full-time, hourly position at Resolution Economics. Research Analysts will assist with the data creation and the document management portion of our casework. This also includes data entry, data collection through video observation, in-person observation studies, researching publicly available data sources, and document review. Research Analysts also assist with administrative duties in relation to casework such as copying case documents, preparing binders, and traveling to client sites to pick-up/drop-off documents.

Research Analysts will gain an understanding of the consulting environment and will learn how the field of Economics is used within the legal system. Though not required for the position, Research Analysts have the option to learn how to perform statistical analysis in SAS through training modules that are provided.

Wage Scale:

Research Analysts are paid at a base hourly rate of $30.00 for non-overtime work hours, subject to all required deductions and withholding, and not including the value of benefits under any Resolution Economics-maintained benefit plan. Analysts are eligible for overtime pay to the extent provided by applicable federal and state law.

Responsibilities of this position may include:

  • Database creation
  • Data entry
  • Video Observation
  • On site surveys and/or observation studies
  • Creating charts and graphs in Excel
  • Internet research; deep dive research
  • Researching additional data sources (e.g., Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Census, etc.)
  • Assisting staff at all levels with casework tasks and quality control
  • Reviewing and summarizing documents
  • Travel may be required
  • Ad Hoc duties that relate to casework

  • High level of competence using Windows-based computers (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as strong Internet research skills

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (Liberal arts majors welcome, including English, History, Classics, etc.)
