Marketing Specialist
Develops professional marketing and promotional plans for ongoing programs and events for military members, their families, and retirees at a major military installation in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

- WHAT TO EXPECT:
Establishes and maintains continuous liaison with managers and command personnel to develop and execute programs, services and/or events for authorized patrons. - Conducts and coordinates marketing analysis, data gathering and tabulation by using a variety of survey tools (e.g., Pulse Point, MIS/POS information, customer suggestions/comment cards, paper surveys, phone interviews, focus groups, town meetings, etc.).
- Utilizes marketing tools to measure utilization and to publicize and encourage patronage/use of programs and facilities.
- Conducts public relations activities, using publicity information or interviews to write press releases, feature articles, web advertisements or stories, photo captions, social media posts, and other public relations media.
- Represents the Region Marketing Department at installation level meetings with military personnel, civilian representatives, and community leaders (i.e., ombudsmen, spouse or Chiefs' clubs, Chamber of Commerce, community information fairs, etc.)
- WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
The incumbent must have a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations or a related field and a minimum of one year’s work experience in marketing (or related field) OR - At least three years’ experience in the marketing field or related area.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of all phases of marketing and communications, including knowledge of principles, methods, practices, trends and techniques.
- Must have excellent writing skills, strong skills in verbal communications skills, problem solving, creative negotiation, and sales.
- Must possess a proven ability to analyze business needs and develop marketing plans and recommendations in a fast-paced environment.
- Skill in using PC and various software programs.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation.
- May be required to work evenings and/or weekends to cover or coordinate events at those times.
