Public Relations Intern

Part-time 20hrs/wk.; $20/hr.

12 week duration (240 hours); May 20, 2024 – Aug 9, 2024

Position:

As a Public Relations Intern at Well Done, you will assist in the day-to-day development and management of communications content, working with the public relations team to ensure clear, concise communication that can be used for a variety of purposes by the agency and our clients. 


 

Reports to: Director of Public Relations

Position Type: Part-time; hourly paid internship

Expected Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, Flexible schedule equivalent to 20 hours/wk. as agreed with management

Internship Duration: 12 weeks/240 hrs. from May 20, 2024 – Aug 9, 2024 (approx. dates)

Degree Track: Must be a registered student or recent grad working towards a degree in communications, marketing, advertising, English, or a similar field.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Shadowing public relations team members
  • Creating briefing sheets and spokesperson preparation
  • Editorial and social content planning
  • Publication and journalist research
  • Pitch writing and iterating
  • Participate in intern cohort team project


 

Skills & Experience:

  • Curiosity, willingness to make mistakes, and a propensity for finding bold solutions—on a deadline
  • Collaborative spirit and a willingness to iterate on an idea to get it to its best form
  • Ability to present ideas, problem-solve, and deliver timely results
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities 
  • Inquisitive, fast-learner with strong writing skills

Work Environment:

This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, digital cameras, and scanners.


 

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time.


 

Travel:

Travel may be limited for client meetings or other agency activities.
