QC Microbiology Laboratory Technician

In this position, you will help to adapt the standard methods and procedures, helping identify required delivery and process improvements that drive increased efficiency, throughput and quality. You will arrive at decisions on which methods and procedures are the best fit for different work situations.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage own time and prioritize own workflow.
  • Responsible for maintaining laboratory compliance.
  • Perform routine and non-routine environmental monitoring (total particulates, air viable, and surface viables), utility monitoring and compressed gas testing of GMP manufacturing clean rooms and lab areas.
  • Interpret and evaluate data in terms of accuracy, precision, trends, and potential Good Manufacturing Practices {also cGMP} impact and recommends appropriate corrective action where necessary.
  • Initiate and participate in EM excursion investigations and assess any potential impact on product quality
  • Assist in trending and EM data and generate quarterly and yearly reports
  • Perform bioburden, endotoxin, sterility testing, Micro ID, TOC and Conductivity
  • Aid as necessary to maintain the function of the QC lab to include ordering materials, inventory, general housekeeping and other duties as necessary
  • Operate in high regard, integrity and efficiency to generate accurate and quality results with a customer focused mind-set
  • Utilize laboratory instruments and equipment in accordance to established procedures to include but not limited to air samplers, particle counters, endotoxin readers, microscopes, etc.

 

BASIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 0-2 Years experience in a QC Microbiology Laboratory
  • Successful hands-on analytical testing experience in a Good Manufacturing Practices {also cGMP} environment
  • Technical Skills- Knowledge of laboratory equipment, testing and technique
  • Basic math skills and computer skills, such as data entry, along with a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task across projects and activities
  • Must be self-motivated and work with minimal direction
  • Ability to read, communicate understanding and follow written procedures

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in computerized systems, such as Laboratory Information Management System

 

Additional information:

Position is Full Time with the following Shifts Available: Either Sunday-Wednesday (Every other Wednesday Off) OR Wednesday-Saturday (Every other Wednesday Off); ALL Schedules will be working 7am-7pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of  Sanford, NC are encouraged to apply.
