What I liked

West Monroe Partners has an excellent culture with supportive mentors and helpful feedback. The internship program was highly structured with transparent responsibilities and opportunities to engage in interesting projects. I really enjoyed the steep learning curve and engaging in real project work, as I felt supported by my managers and able to reach out to anyone for help or just to chat.

What I wish was different

The internship was virtual unfortunately, due to Covid-19, however West Monroe did an excellent job adapting their internship program to a virtual format. I wish the internship experience could have been longer and in person, but that was not necessarily up the company. I don't have much else I would change!

Advice

There is good training during the first two of weeks on technical skills but I would recommend that one has basic to advanced technical skills in common consulting software applications such as Excel and PowerPoint. Additionally, one needs to be willing to constantly learn, researching different concepts and technologies as well as always taking notes.

My favorite part of the internship was the people I worked with. WMP Ian unique in that their a mid sized firm that has the culture and flexibility of a start up.
